The neighborhood that the characters lived in, though… Dude, I freaking LOVED that area! It was soooooo beautiful and cool and it looked like a wonderful place to live! It was by no means convincing but still a welcome thing.

Kim Ji-won looks barely 20 in this show and yet she’s portraying a 29 year old. With old actors playing younger roles frequently, it was a fresh change to see a young actress play an older role. I know, I know, the characters are like, 30 but korean dramas rarely too far, they hardly even add a kiss! But this was more explicit compared to the others. What did surprise me was that this drama was significantly more adult than almost all the others I’ve seen. I love that show and will forever love everyone in it. Shout out to the dude because of Reply 1988. I loved the dynamic between Jo-man and Sul-hee, even though it had a ton of cheesiness, especially the interns that reminded him of her. Sure, they give the characters different skills and change the dynamics up a little bit, but sooner or later, the drama starts to go the same route as any other korean drama and that kills half the fun for me now. Usually, it’s pretty easy to tell what’s going to happen, especially in such a happy show as this, I literally saw everything coming from a mile off. To summarize how I feel, I think the show had depth and richness in the beginning but as it went forward everything started to feel flat and predictable. The aegyo, as well, was an attractive factor.
FIGHT MY WAY RATING PLUS
I wanted to see more of her after Arthadal Chronicles, plus the small clips of this drama that I’d come across on Instagram were funny so I wanted to give this a try.

I also like Kim Ji-won, she’s cute as a button. This was my first Park Seo-joon drama and he’s pretty good. They’ve all kinda started to blend together now, and it’s more about catching the differences from all the others I’ve watched than the story itself because let’s face it, korean dramas resemble each other a LOT. But I think I’m past the phase where I was amazed by every kdrama I ever watched. Everyone needs something, and nothing ever seems like enough.Okay, this was a good one. There’s an effortlessness in the way writer-director Emmanuelle Bercot paints a scenario that will feel familiar for some: Here’s Bettie, a mother and a daughter, tasked with caring for both her own mother and daughter - or in this case her daughter’s son. (Decades earlier, Bettie was crowned Miss Brittany.) Suddenly this road-tripper finds herself with a companion on her journey, and the pair heads for a reunion of former French beauty pageant girls. The movie’s richest moments come after Bettie gets a call from her daughter, who’s in a bind and needs someone to take care of her son, Charly (Nemo Schiffman). Bettie has to fight the urge to snatch the thing from his hands and do it herself, but her frustrations are complicated by her own march of time. At one point, she stops in a small village looking for a cigarette, and an elderly man offers to make her one, even though his arthritic fingers struggle with the task. When Bettie’s paramour leaves his wife - and Bettie - for another, younger woman, the erstwhile mistress gets in her car and leaves town without so much as a word to her mother or employees.īettie’s resulting road trip looks pretty aimless, but each random stop seems to build up to something, further explaining why this character maintains a somewhat closed-off demeanor. Her existence feels tenuous, as if it wouldn’t take much for her to come undone, and sure enough such an event unfolds. She lives in her childhood home, along with her mother, and she’s estranged from her daughter and young grandson.

Since her husband died years earlier, she’s been barely scraping by, running a small restaurant in a village in Brittany.
FIGHT MY WAY RATING PROFESSIONAL
Unlike Deneuve, Bettie’s professional life hasn’t amounted to much.
FIGHT MY WAY RATING HOW TO
Like Bettie, the 70-year-old Deneuve isn’t the fresh-faced head-turner she once was, but “On My Way” demonstrates that this leading lady still knows how to command an audience’s attention. The film follows Bettie, a former bombshell, as she confronts the sad realities and ever-shifting challenges of aging. There’s a certain poignancy that the star of the French drama “ On My Way” is Catherine Deneuve.
